Not Sure Which Lash Glue to Choose? Here’s a London Lash Glue Breakdown
No matter where you are in your lash career, the sheer number of lash extension glues on the market can be a bit overwhelming. If you're feeling a bit confused, don't worry – we're here to help clear things up so you can find the perfect lash glue for your needs! Let's take a closer look at each of our glues to help you decide what's best for you.
Satin Bond Lash Glue
Possibly the most ideal lash extension glue for beginners from our entire range, Satin Bond has a 2-second drying time and a medium texture. This means it's not too runny, making it easier to pick up just the right amount of glue, and not too thick, preventing excessive glue that could lead to stickies (something that also comes with practice).
Satin Bond performs best in humidity levels between 50-65%. If your humidity is consistently higher than this, Satin Bond will still be a great fit for you, even if you typically place lashes within 1 second of dipping them. If you're unsure how long it takes you to place a lash after dipping, try timing it – this can make a big difference in choosing the right glue.
Lady Bond Lash Glue
Lady Bond has been a staple in our lash extension glue range since London Lash started, and for a good reason – Lash Techs around the world love it! Lady Bond is user-friendly with a 1-2 second drying time, making it suitable for Lash Techs of almost any level. While it may be a bit slow for super speedy lashers, it can be a great option if your humidity levels get very high in the winter.
TOP TIP: A Digital Hygrometer is a smart investment for your business. Knowing your temperature and humidity levels is crucial for choosing the right glue, which directly impacts your retention and client satisfaction. Trust us, it’s worth it!
Crystal Bond Lash Glue
As the name suggests, Crystal Bond is a clear lash extension glue, and is the only clear coloured eyelash glue in our collection in fact. It's especially popular for lash sets that use coloured lash extensions and brown lashes, providing a seamless bond between the extensions and the natural lashes. However, it can be used for any type of eyelash extension set.
Like Lady Bond, Crystal Bond has a 1-2 second drying time and a medium consistency. However, because it’s clear, it can be tricky to see how much you’re applying, so be careful to avoid using too much and causing stickies!
An important thing to note is that with any clear lash extension glue, it's important to ensure the glue is well-mixed. Obviously, that goes for any lash glue, but unlike black glue where when you haven’t shaken it properly it will have a gray appearance, you can't actually tell if clear glue hasn't been shaken properly, so you need to be super thorough when shaking your glue.
Flexie Lash Glue
Flexie truly lives up to its name by forming a flexible bond around the lashes and extensions, which helps prolong retention. Flexie has a 1-second drying time and works well in a wide range of humidity levels of 40-70% (which also gives it that ‘flexible’ name), making it ideal for Lash Techs who work quickly and experience fluctuating humidity.
TOP TIP: Humidity affects your glue during and between uses. Keeping your glue nozzle clean, screwing the lid on tightly, and storing it properly can make a big difference in your glue’s performance and lash retention.
Power Bond Lash Glue
Like Lady Bond, Power Bond is a London Lash OG and have been a part of our collection since day dot! Power Bond is a favorite among advanced Lash Techs thanks to its rapid drying time of 0.5-1 second. However, you need to keep in mind that it is best suited for stable humidity levels, so if work quickly and can maintain consistent conditions, Power Bond is perfect for you!
Royal Bond Lash Glue
Royal Bond might seem pricey in comparison to our other glues, but hear us out because it’s most definitely worth it. It’s designed to work in both low and high humidity (30-80%), making it perfect if you don’t want to juggle multiple glues. For instance, if you didn’t have Royal Bond and you were a rapid lasher, you could use Power Bond as your go-to glue, and Flexie as well in case the humidity in your room was to rise to much for Power Bond to work well in. Of course, this is perfectly fine to do, and you’ll probably speak to many Lash Techs who use a couple of glues for a multitude of reasons – but you don’t need to subject yourself to this faff!
Royal Bond is a great all-rounder that simplifies your kit and keeps your clients’ lashes looking great even if your room conditions change. When we tested Royal Bond in 2018, it provided the best retention we’ve ever experienced. Based on this, we added it to our range, and it has been a hit ever since!
