Apply These Three Lash Hacks Into Your Routine

We love to help make your job as a Lash Artist easier with tips and tricks that enable you to utilise your eyelash extensions kit to the fullest. We also know that you’re probably not a stranger to lash extension hacks, and we’re always on the lookout for what’s new, so don’t be afraid to share your tricks with us on our Instagram page — @London_Lash_EU. But if you are new to the game, or you simply haven’t had the chance to experiment with some of these tips yet, now is the perfect time to adjust your lash kit and make your treatments easier.

      Foam Tape for Bulbous Eyes

Clients with round or bulbous eyes can be tricky to lash as they may struggle to close their eyes fully. While this may not be noticeable in their day-to-day life, their eyes must remain completely closed during a lash treatment to help prevent irritation from the fumes produced by lash glue. For clients with big and beautiful eyes, we suggest this helpful trick:

Cut a piece of Microfoam Tape to fit the client’s eye shape and use it as an alternative to your usual eyepatches. Because Foam Tape is thicker than standard eyepatches, it can help bridge the gap between the under-eye area and the eyelid, allowing the eyes to close more securely.

Foam Tape also provides a suitable surface for drawing a lash map with a Lash Mapping Pen. If you use an additional eyelid strip to help the client keep their eyes closed, the Foam Tape can provide a more secure surface for the strip.

Use a Wooden Stick During Pretreatment

You may be wondering how adding this extra step to your pretreatment routine will save time or be helpful. Using a wooden stick during pretreatment allows you to clean your client’s eyelashes thoroughly while helping to keep the eyepatches dry and free from residue. With a properly cleansed and primed base, you can isolate more efficiently and apply extensions knowing the natural lashes have been properly prepared.

Position a thin Wooden Waxing Stick beneath the lash line while cleansing the lashes with Lash Shampoo. Follow this with a more thorough cleansing and priming of the lashes using the Super Prep DUO.

This technique helps prevent makeup, impurities and leftover debris from reaching the eyepatches, reducing the need to replace patches that have become wet or dirty. It can also help prevent pretreatment products from coming into contact with the client’s eyes.

      Burp Your Lash Glue

That’s right, this is an industry term! Burping your eyelash glue is a process that removes excess air from the bottle. Doing this helps prevent adhesive from curing around the nozzle and can reduce product waste.

To burp your adhesive, place the bottle on a flat surface and gently squeeze the sides to release any excess air or glue trapped in the nozzle. Excess air introduces moisture into the bottle, which can cause the adhesive to cure more quickly. Use a Biodegradable Glue Nozzle Wipe to remove any adhesive from the nozzle before replacing the cap securely. This will help keep your adhesive fresh and ready for its next use.

Lash Technician burping a bottle of eyelash extension glue

Whether you’re an experienced Lash Artist or a beginner Lash Technician, it’s never too early or too late to introduce a helpful hack into your treatments. You don’t need to use every hack during every appointment, but finding safe and effective ways to make your daily routine easier can make a significant difference.
