Must-Have Products for Creating Gorgeous Hybrid Lashes

So, what exactly are hybrid lashes? In a nutshell, hybrid lashes are a mix of classic lash extensions and volume lashes. While many think of a hybrid set as an even 50/50 blend of classic and volume, there’s actually a lot of room to customize based on what your client wants and what their natural lashes can handle.

The Lashes You’ll Need

There are so many ways to create hybrid lashes, and we’re here to break it down for you without making it overwhelming. If you’re just starting out, it’s smart to keep it simple. I recommend starting with 0.15 classic lashes paired with 0.07 volume lashes, which you can use to create volume fans up to 5D. For a softer effect, use 0.10 lashes for both your classic lashes and 2D fans. If you’re aiming for something more dramatic, try using 0.05 lashes to create fans up to 9D, and consider flat lashes in 0.20.

DID YOU KNOW: Flat lashes are made by combining two ultra-fine lashes, which gives them the look of a thicker classic lash but with only about half the weight. This means you can go bold without worrying about damaging your client’s natural lashes!

Choosing the Right Glue

If you’ve already found a lash glue you love, you can definitely stick with it for hybrid lashes. However, if you’re new to volume lashes, you might find that it takes a bit longer to apply them compared to classic lashes. If you’re still getting the hang of volume application, consider using a slower-curing adhesive for your volume lashes. Another tip: you can adjust the humidity—raise it when applying classic lashes and lower it when working with volume fans.

TOP TIP: When applying a hybrid lash set, start with the classic lashes first. Then, use a piece of tape to hold them back while you apply your volume fans. This little trick helps ensure you get full coverage and keeps your lash extensions from sticking together.

Anything Else?

Yes! Lash prep products like cleansers and primers are key to making sure your lash sets last longer and that your clients feel taken care of. They’ll appreciate the attention to detail, and it’s great for their lash health too. For tips on the best prep routine, check out our 5-Step Pretreatment Bundle.

It’s also smart to have some lash remover on hand. Cream remover is great for removing full sets, while gel remover works well for spot removal during a lash fill. And, of course, no lash extension kit is complete without some tape and under-eye patches to protect those bottom lashes while you’re working your magic.
